It is very important to make sure that all glue, mortar or any adhesives are completely removed from your existing floor.
Any residue that is left on floor before the tile is installed could result in the tile or stone releasing because there is not a proper bond.
We use several different methods to remove your existing flooring, which includes grinding in some cases that may require heavy equipment.
This process results in a large amount of dust, we typically seal of the room with plastic, but in most cases there is some dust that may travel to other parts of your house.
Please keep in mind that every floor is different. In some cases once we have removed the flooring, there could be cracks or imperfections in the substrate that may require floating or leveling. If we find any cracks, we will bring it to your attention and give you the option to use a anti-fracture membrane. For more detail see our "CRACK FLOOR PREVENTION" section of this website for product and installation details.
If you are working with a tight budget, we can install your floor without grinding or using any anti-fracture membrane, but we will not be able to warranty the installation. The Tile Council of North America TCNA, recommends that correct preparation of the substrate be suitable too receive new material and we always follow the TCNA and manufacturer recommendations for installations.
We offer free measurements and estimates, so when we arrive to your project we will inspect the floor and present these options to you and then provide a quote that will reflect the options you have chosen. We take pride in our work and depending on your budget, we can make it work for you!
